Qigong is a 5,000 year-old physical and energetic mind-body practice that cultivates, maintains, and promotes the free flow of Qi  (vital life force).

 

Accessible and adaptable, Qigong is a holistic practice that improves physical and mental health, enriching one’s life regardless of age, ability, or belief system. 

 

Those who have an ongoing practice, use Qigong to maintain their health, increase their energy levels, and even to heal from illness. This is accomplished by integrating movement, breathing techniques, and focused intention. Let Michael guide you and help you advance in your Qigong practice.

Meditation

Meditation isn’t about becoming a different person, a new person, or even a better person. It’s about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. You’re not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings. You’re learning to observe them without judgment. And eventually, you may start to better understand them as well.

​

There is good evidence that suggests that meditation helps relieve our subjective levels of anxiety and depression, and improve attention, concentration, and overall psychological well-being, which can translate to better overall health and can even help ward off chronic disease.

​

Learning to meditate is like learning any other skill. Think of it like exercising a muscle that you’ve never really worked out before. It takes consistent practice to get comfortable. And it’s usually easier if you have a teacher.

SOUND HEALING

SOUND HEALING

Sound helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. By using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).

​

This same concept is utilized in meditation by regulating the breath, but with sound it's the frequency that is the agent which influences the shift.

​

Some of the healing sound instruments that I use are crystal singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, and chimes. It's important to note that awareness plays a huge role in our own healing. These tools facilitate the fine-tuning of our greatest vibrational instrument: our own body. Join Cathy for a private or group sound journey.
